One of the leading causes of industrial fires is the improper storage and handling of flammable liquids. The Justrite Standard Sure-Grip® EX Flammable Safety Cabinet with Manual Doors is designed to safely store flammable liquids. Its exterior dimensions are 65 in H x 43 in W x 18 in D (1651 mm H x 1092 mm W x 457 mm D). These cabinets can store 45 gal (170 L) of flammable liquids.
This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced.
High-performance, self-closing doors open to 140 degrees. A patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space. The doors self-index to guarantee they will close in tight sequence. Continuous piano hinges ensure the doors close smoothly every time.
High-performance, manual-close, self-latching doors (fail safe, 3-point stainless steel) open to a full 180 degrees and self-latches when pushed closed. Self-close door(s) shuts and latches automatically when a fusible link melts at 165°F (74ºC) under fire conditions. Unique, concealed self-closing mechanism offers obstruction-free access to contents.
For added security, each cabinet comes with an innovative U-Loc™ handle that does not require manual rotation to engage the mandatory latch. Cabinets include a cylinder lock and key set, or you can choose to use your own padlock. Trilingual Haz-Alert™ reflective warning labels that read "FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY" are highly visible under fire conditions or during power outages when illuminated with a flashlight.
The cabinet features two patented, galvanized steel SpillSlope® shelves designed to direct spills to the back and bottom into a 2-in (51-mm) leak-tested sump that meets EPA requirements. Adjustable on 3-in (76-mm) centers, all SpillSlope shelves meet ANSI MH28.1 standards with a 350-lb (159-kg) safe allowable load. Welded shelf hangers interlock with the shelf to offer maximum stability with no flimsy brackets to lose. For replacement shelves, use model 29944.
The cabinet also features dual vents with flame arresters, four adjustable self-leveling feet, and a built-in grounding connector. Its durable lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish provides excellent chemical resistance inside and out, as well as minimizes the effects of corrosion and humidity.
All Justrite cabinets carry a 10-year warranty. Model 896020 is tested and approved by FM Approvals. It complies with OSHA, NFPA 30, NFPA 1, and IFC requirements.
